A Reverence for Life

Greetings!

This is the first of what will be a series of blogs on the topic: a reverence for life. A reverence for life is the philosophy of love and compassion bequeathed us by the great humanitarian, Dr. Albert Schweitzer. It was his ethos, his philosophy of how we ought to live our lives.

My hope and goal with these blogs is two-fold: First to introduce you to this philosophy; and

Second, by fleshing it out and providing some examples and explanations, to convince you it is the philosophy of life each of us should follow.

Our initial blogs will follow a PowerPoint presentation I was privileged to make at Unity on the Eastern Shore (UES) on July 26. Those slides may be available on the UES Facebook page. They are available on my own LinkedIn page.

Our title slide reads: Unity Principles and a Reverence for Life. In discussing the merits of a reverence for life, I will also touch on the merits of our Unity principles; in particular, Unity Principle #5.

As the title suggests, we’ll seek not only to honor those principles and philosophy, but to demonstrate how they both dovetail and support each other.

Each week we’ll examine a different slide and concept. I look forward to sharing these important ideas with you.
